Born in Casalmaggiore (Italy) in 1974, he attended the piano class at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma (Italy) held by Maestro Luigi Di Ilio. In 1996, he graduated with distinction. As the best student of the previous year, he opened the 1997-1998 academic year, playing the Concert for piano and orchestra n.1 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. He continued to perfect his piano technique with Maestro Franco Scala and Maestro Rinaldo Rossi. In 2000, at the “Accademia Musicale Umbra” he attended an advanced three-year course with Maestro Lucia Passaglia, and he obtained a”Diploma of Excellence”.
In 2002, Martani graduated with the highest marks and praise at the University of Parma in Musicology with a thesis about Liszt and Thalberg opera paraphrase, with Professor Giampaolo Minardi. In 2007, with Maestro Roberto Cappello, he obtained a second level degree at Conservatory of Parma, with the highest marks and praise. In the same Institute, he graduated the Second-Level Academic Diploma in chamber vocal music accompanist (with Maestro Reiko Sanada) and the Second-Level piano Maestro collaborator, (with Maestro Stefano Giannini) both achieved with honors and special mention.
He won the First Prize at the Gino Gandolfi piano competition, in Salsomaggiore (Italy).
He has received important awards in many prestigious National and International piano competitions such as at the Premio Venezia, Concorso Musicale Europeo in Moncalieri, Rassegna Internazionale Giovani Musicisti in Pinerolo, J. S. Bach in Sestri Levante, Torneo Internazionale di Musica, Gino Gandolfi in Salsomaggiore. In addition to his activity as a soloist, Martani is interested in voice and chamber music and he perfected them with Paola Molinari at the Centro Universale del Belcanto in Modena and with Robert Kettelson at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He has been a piano accompanist in many advanced courses and master classes for singers and musicians, held, among others, by Mirella Freni, Nicolaj Ghiaurov, Katia Ricciarelli, Renata Scotto, Fiorenza Cedolins, Michele Pertusi, Giovanna Casolla, Renato Bruson, Cecilia Gasdia, Barbara Frittoli, Sonia Ganassi, Anna Pirozzi, Michael Bochmann, Davide Formisano, Sergio Bertocchi, Roberto De Candia,Cinzia Forte, William Matteuzzi, Leonardo Di Lisi, Lucetta Bizzi, Gaelyne Gabora, Gina Sanders, Vittorio Terranova, Wilma Vernocchi, Francesco Zingariello, Damiana Pinti, Anna Maria Chiuri.
He extensively performs in prestigious Italian and European concert halls as Luzern KKL, Opera of Prague, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Bibbiena in Mantua, Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, Duomo di Milano, Teatro Regio in Parma.Since 2016, foundation year, he has been the official piano accompanist of the Accademia Verdiana at the Teatro Regio in Parma.
Piano accompanist invited at important international opera competitions: ConcorsoInternazionale di Canto Renata Tebaldi (San Marino), Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane (Città di Busseto), Concorso Internazionale per giovani voci liriche Flaviano Labò (Piacenza), Concorso Lirico Internazionale Tebaldi-Gigli-Corelli(Pesaro). He has been a piano accompanist at the F.A. Bonporti in Trento, at the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato Achille Periin Reggio Emilia, at Conservatoire Niccolò Piccinni in Bari, at the Luigi Canepa Conservatory in Sassari and at the Niccolo Paganini Conservatory in Genoa.
He has been a Professor of piano at the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato Orazio Vecchi in Modena and later, a Professor of piano at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Achille Peri in Reggio Emilia. Currently,he is a tenured professor of Piano Accompanying classes at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma.
She has completed her musical studies at Sook Myung University in Seoul, South Korea.
She then continued her studies in Italy, earning degrees in piano, harpsichord, vocal chamber music, and achieving a degree as a Collaborative Piano Master, both at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan and at the Academy of La Scala Theater.
She collaborates with the most prestigious theaters and festivals in Europe (La Scala Theater, Salzburg Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Wratislavia Cantans Festival in Wroclaw, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Théâtre Champs-Élysées, Monte Carlo Theater, Maggio Fiorentino Theater, etc.), working with directors such as Ottavio Dantone, Diego Fasolis, Gianandrea Noseda, Gianluca Capuano, and singers such as Cecilia Bartoli, Julia Lezhneva, Sandrine Piau, Edgardo Rocha, Nicolo Alaimo, Ildebrando D’arcangelo, Michele Pertusi, John Osborn, Javier Camarena, Angela Georghiu, among others. She has also served as a musical assistant to Giovanni Antonini in various opera productions such as Norma, Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte and Fidelio.
She frequently alternates this activity with that of a chamber musician, both in vocal music, with, among others, Cecilia Bartoli, and in instrumental music, with Katia & Marielle Labèque, Ivan Karizna, Diego Dini Ciacci, dedicating herself particularly to Baroque music and 20th-century music with authors such as Bartok, Messiaen, and Ligeti.
She has been a collaborative pianist for instrumental and vocal classes at the Milan Conservatory for more than 10 years and at the vocal academy in Menuhin Festival.
