There are 40 young singers admitted to the preliminary rounds

The 40 young singers who gained access to the qualifier of the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition in San Marino have been selected among the 157 candidates admitted to the pre-selection phase.
Female voices stand out with 23 sopranos, 3 mezzo-sopranos and 1 contralto while the group of male singers includes 4 tenors, 4 baritones and 5 basses.
The average age is 28 years and the candidates come from 17 different countries: South Korea (9), Norway (2), Philippines (1), Denmark (1), Portugal (1), Italy (11), USA (2), Russian Federation (1), Austria (1), Lithuania (1), Georgia (2), Kazakhstan (1), Poland (1), China (3), Moldova (1), Greece (1) and France (1).
Now, the admitted candidates will arrive in San Marino on 16 December, when they can rehearse with the pianists in order to perform their repertoire in the qualifier on 17 December and in the semi-final on 18 December. On the following day, 19 December, the finalists will rehearse with the orchestra waiting for the final concert on 20 December, when the prizes of the 9th edition of the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition will be awarded.
All the phases of the Competition are open to the public.
