Live in Versailles for the Ancient and Baroque section of the Renata Tebaldi Competition
The live pre-selections of the Renata Tebaldi International Singing Competition continued on May 8th, 2022: in France it is the day of the Ancient and Baroque Repertoire, organized at the prestigious headquarters of the Palace of Versailles, the castle near Paris famous for being a of the main architectural works of modern history, as well as the temple of ancient music.
A demanding repertoire for the candidates, all between 22 and 30 years old, who performed in a sold out hall accompanied on the harpsichord in the Grand Foyer of the Opéra Royal, packed with audiences thanks to the “Tous a l’opera ”, a musical festival now in its 15th edition and aimed at spreading music, in line with the mission and international activities of the Renata Tebaldi Foundation.
Representing the San Marino team Barbara Andreini, artistic coordinator of the Tebaldi Foundation, working together with Angelo Nicastro, artistic co-director of the Ravenna Festival and artistic director of the Renata Tebaldi Foundation, Stèphane Fuget, internationally renowned musician and conductor, and Laurent Brunner, director of the Château de Versailles Spectacles and president of the International Jury of the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition 2022 for the Ancient & Baroque section.
A great success for San Marino and for the International Singing Competition which awaits the semi-finalists in the Republic in September, excellent omens given the turnout of the public today in Versailles and the interest of the trade press, singers and professionals works, all essential elements for such a wide-ranging international event
