Rome: tribute to Renata!
a special dedication … from a friend to a friend
The first of the events dedicated to Renata Tebaldi on the tenth anniversary of her death, organized in the capital, took place on April 15th in the splendid Baroque setting of the Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone in Rome.
The concert held by the contralto Stella Salvati accompanied on piano by Paola Pisa, presented a very program articulated, which opened with some ancient Italian arias, up to melodies by Francesco Paolo Tosti, passing through two very famous arias taken from the ‘Carmen’ by Georges Bizet.
All the songs were in a certain way linked to Renata, who had masterfully performed them several times in public, but also recorded in various recordings and especially taught during the International courses held in San Marino , in which Stella Salvati had participated.
The large audience, moved and enthusiastic, particularly appreciated the performance, giving the two artists very warm applause, and praised the initiative, hoping that this meeting is only the first of a series of cultural events in memory of our great friend.
