Baroque: from the world to San Marino in the name of Renata Tebaldi
Thirty-three young talents have been selected from all round the world to try to win the tenth edition of the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition.
The final stages of the Competition – Baroque Section 2025 are taking place at the Teatro del Titano in the Republic of San Marino from 23 to 27 September.
After the first day of rehearsals, the qualifier on 24 September and the semi-final on 25 September will be open to the public, as well as the final concert on 27 September, accompanied by the Dolce Concento ensemble conducted by M° Nicola Valentini. Besides the technical jury and the jury of critics, also the audience may vote their favourite singer and award him/her a prize.
After the introduction in 2024 of yearly editions of the Competitions, this is the first one entirely dedicated to the music of the XVII and XVIII centuries. The number of participants confirms this choice as registrations increased compared to the previous years, when the Baroque and Opera sections took place in parallel. The entrants who competed to gain access to the final stages come from twenty-three countries (Albania, Armenia, Canada, Chile, China, South Korea, Russian Federation, France, Japan, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, Hungary and Uruguay). Thirty-three young singers have been selected and will come to San Marino to follow the steps of some of the most representative voices of today’s Baroque scene such as Carlo Vistoli, Nicolò Balducci, Angelica Disanto, Lavinia Bini and Giuseppina Bridelli, who won the Competition in the past years.
